Training and Grooming

Rashtriya Fisheries Enforcement Unit is one of those organisations that dedicate themselves to the betterment of the people of India working in the fisheries sector. The fisheries sector is an important contributor to India's economy, which has its share in the national income, exports, food and nutritional security, and employment. The fisheries sector in India nurtures the livelihoods of almost 30 million people. Individuals from marginalised and vulnerable communities work in this sector. In the past decades, fisheries and aquaculture production have achieved 114% growth. India has also experienced a notable boost in seafood exports.

RFEU’s Training and Grooming

To improve the performance of the fishermen, fish farmers, fish producers, and fish vendors, we have decided to equip them with the necessary knowledge and expertise. This will only be possible with proper training and grooming. So RFEU provides training and grooming sessions for these professionals when they register with us and enroll themselves in our sessions.

We have some skill development programmes to teach the professionals modern fishing techniques, aquaculture methods, fish breeding, disease management, and processing techniques to accelerate productivity and overall income. The use of modern equipment and safe handling of marine resources are also taught by our experts. These programs ensure a reduction in the wastage, better quality of fish catching, and higher success in daily operations.
Aquaculture and Fish Farming
Fish farmers are to be aware of the modern breeding practices, water quality management, and feed management. Learning these skills will improve their productivity, lower risks, and reduce losses.
Fishermen and vendors face several challenges in marketing and selling their products. RFEU let them know about the pricing strategies, cooperative techniques, value addition, and stepping into the larger markets. Professionals are taught how to navigate the domestic and international Markets.
Many of the fishermen and vendors in India are not digitally or technically sound. RFEU provides knowledge of digital tools, mobile apps, and different online platforms that can help them track market prices, different schemes, financial aid, and weather updates. When people are digitally empowered, it bridges the gap between the traditional methods and practices and modern market demands.
Risk Management and Safety
Our training includes guidelines for individual safety during fishing or fish production. This training prepares professionals for disasters and different challenges in uncertain weather conditions. Fisherman learn here to protect themselves and their communities during emergencies.
RFEU wants to prepare leaders within the fishing community. Our beneficiaries are to be groomed to take on leadership roles and different cooperatives, associations and local groups. This not only uplifts individuals but also strengthens the community and invites collaborative work among them.
Our training includes detailed guidelines on how to avail subsidies, insurance schemes, and financial aid offered by the states and the centre. Our beneficiaries are made able to understand the documentation, their eligibility, and the application processes so that they do not miss the available opportunities.
